BARTENDER

• An opportunity at our Bloomington restaurant/bar that is part of our distillery.

Cardinal Spirits bartenders possess a strong work ethic, ability to prioritize tasks, friendliness, and efficiency. They work well on a team, have an eye for detail, and perform skillfully under pressure. They take pride in providing excellent service and are curious and excited to learn more about the craft spirits industry and craft cocktails.

As a bartender you will be responsible for efficiently building and serving cocktails in a fast paced environment while performing the following duties:

• Maintaining a clean and organized bar

• Prepping cocktail ingredients and garnishes

• Stocking bar items such as garnishes, syrups, sodas, ice, and towels

• Communicating effectively with managers, barbacks, servers, and hosts

• Serving bar guests in a friendly manner

• Reading recipes and builds while building cocktails quickly and skillfully

• Creating craft cocktails for seasonal menus

Requirements:

• Be at least 21 years of age and able to acquire a permit to serve alcohol in the State of Indiana

• General service industry experience - bartending experience preferred, barbacking experience required

• Availability to work nights, weekends, and certain holidays & IU events

Compensation:

• $12/hr + tips

LINE COOK

• This position is located in Bloomington, Indiana, at our distillery cocktail bar, and requires weekend availability.

OVERVIEW

Cardinal Spirits is looking for a skilled, responsible line cook to join our team. This position is part time and requires day, night, and weekend availability.

JOB DETAILS:

The line cook role requires the understanding and execution of standard cooking techniques as well as general knowledge and understanding of the local Department of Health (DOH) food safety standards. Kitchen workers should be able to read and follow recipes, improve company standards, and, with time, train new employees. We want our team to be respectful, driven, and passionate about providing great hospitality.

We are looking for someone with these qualities:

● Curious attitude to continue learning in the position

● Day, night, and weekend availability

● Solid basic knife skills

● A culinary and/or beverage certificate/degree is *a plus*

● Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Minimum Requirements:

● 2 years of kitchen prep and or cooking experience.

● Able to work in a fast-paced and changing environment.

● Able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 50 pounds.

● Able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 12 hours).

SERVER

• This position is located in Bloomington, Indiana, at our distillery cocktail bar.

Currently seeking experienced server for weekday and weekend shifts. Pay starts at $10/hr plus tips.

You: You have a passion for people and illuminating for them what's behind each bottle, cocktail, and dish. You have several years experience as a server in a restaurant. Multi-tasking comes as second nature to you and you keep a cool head in a bustling work environment. You may not have an extensive knowledge of cocktailing, distillation, or casual-fine dining, but you are eager to learn. You function well in a team and supporting your coworkers is a high priority. You're the on the ground ambassador of all we do - you connect customers to our story through a memorable and meaningful dining experience.
